Explain Stuff - Learn science concepts and science theories has been completely redone and re designed - using a user-friendly template.

I have a question with placing the image and the text ad blocks on the sidebar.

Which ad block should be shown when the user lands - or - let me frame the questions this way - Which ad block should be on the top part of the page?

I have the text ad block in similar colors to that of the content, but my question is Will showing an image when someone lands on the page - drive them to click on it? or it doesn't matter?

But you may end up banned. Anything that encourages clicks can eliminate your account

If you are making your visitor to click on ads forcefully. It can harm you even your account get terminated for this. Google detect it if your site earn more then the avg. It review your site again.

guys... where have I mentioned I'm trying to force users to click on ads?

I'm just trying to see which ad block gets more CTR - the test block or the image block... when placed on the right hand side of the page.

You shall try it, put images only ads for two weeks and text only ads for two weeks, then compare the result. If not much different, put text/image ads

That's the beauty of Adsense it's all about optimizing your ads for the most clicks. No-one can tell you for sure which is best, only by switching and experimenting with the ads can you get the results you need to make a conclusion.

If you are looking for opinion, though, I think image ads will probably give you better results.

    Hey pirates,

You are correct image ads should be near the header...

My question was: out of the 'image square block' and 'text square block' which ones do I place on the top. I don't want to move them to the header or the top of the page.
