Can anyone in the know about adsense please help me. I have a travel site where the income focus lies with Google Adsense. I have built the traffic up over the last 6 months and am getting a good batch of targeted users. The travel niche does seem to be a good pick for adsense. The average click is around £1.20 and the adverts themselves seem to be good quality. Could you guys please take a look at the following site and advise how I can increase the adsense earnings. http://www.thearubaguide.com Please advise on my add positioning and how it could be improved? Please advise whether text or image adsenes adds are better for this? Most people tell me that the text ads are always better but the problem I am getting with that is that half the text ads are nothing to do with my niche. Is there any research on the net I can look at that proves this? Please help! Many thanks James
They are going to be relevant to what you or the user has searched for. Go read about google DART cookie and see.
Why don't you try changing the color of the links to something more outstanding? Like Blue or Dark Green? Green matches your header and should stand out within the content. Also, I think you can add one more ad unit to each page. I only see 2.
in most cases yes but it depends on the niche really. - You should use custom channels in your Adsense ads and experiment with both. Put each ad in it's own channel and when you name the channel just put what kind of ad it is (for quick reference) -image or text. Having them in their own channels is also recommended by Google so advertisers can do specific placement on your site. Google say's it can make you more money in the long run. But just experiment with both. and different ad placements. The header ads don't usually get many clicks. do a search for Adsense heat map and get an idea of good ad placement.
just let dsense do its job, don't block anythng and give all advertizers the same opportunity to bid on your ad space, text or image, do your job of publishing content and let adsense do its job of earning the most RPM.
