AdSense Gone Bad

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by SmartMoney, Mar 19, 2005.

I posted this article on my site called

"Alternatives to AdSense". Last night while doing a little maintainence I noticed all the ads were for some variation of "Hot Gay Hardcore". I'm assuming that it's the word "Alternative" that is the cue for these ads...

Geez, wonder what my click through rate will be on this story?

Anyone else have a similar fate?

My guess is that that's Google's sense of humor-

"you want to use something besides adsense? You're gay!"

Maybe Google was serving up ads based on your own personal search cookie? Y'know, the one that google drops on your computer with a permanent record of your searches and search habits?

My site (nothing to do with Gay or porn) gets them ads all the time, worrying when the site is for teenagers. I don't think they should be allowed them ads. I have to keep blocking them all.

I have not had the "alternative" ads appear but sometimes I do get something in another language. Has anyone had this happen? What can be done to stop it? It happens rather arbitrarily so I haven't complained to Google about it.

Use the word 'different' or something similar where you can, I guess
