Adsense & GoDaddy Free Hosting

Does Adsense not work if you're using a GoDaddy's free hosting plan? Or am I doing something wrong?

I just signed up for their cheapest one, so I guess I'll find out for myself in 1-24 hours when it goes through if no one knows.

Well I had the Adsense code in and it was coming up as an Error when the page was loaded. I figure it might have to do with GoDaddy's own advertisement when it says "This page is hosted free by GoDaddy" and they didn't allow other ads...?

*continues to wait until hosting activates*

    edit: Hmm..... not working.

I think they will not allow to display adsense for free hostes sites. Thats their marketing strategy . Get a paid host and that as well from them . They have a big name though :D

    Hrm... I'm doing something wrong.

The hosting plan went through, the GoDaddy ads are gone, I put the Adsense code in, and I'm not getting anything.

If your site hasn't been crawled yet, it'll still show up as hurricane relief or something right? Not just "Page can not be found" in some ugly box.

Ok, a new problem. Hopefully someone can help me.

I started messing around on my Adsense page and got the Ad Units to work after I activated the URL. But there's 2 things:

    1) The Link Units still aren't showing.
    2) The advertisements are for the niche of my main site (video game) and has nothing to do with this site.

It's a brand new site. Should I be doing something else, or will they both fix in time?

More specific question: Do Ads related to niches on your other sites appear instead of Hurricane Relief ads until the search engines have crawled them?

You only need to pay ~$4 for hosting on GoDaddy.

Give it time, it'll pick the content and give you related ads soon.

    Peace,

For what its worth, id always go for paid hosting, godaddy's cheapest plan is very cheap monthly and with ample space, bandwidth etc, then at least you have the freedom if you go for the paid.

well, hope your adsense is working by now.

if not, just wait for a little while, it takes time for google to crawl ur site and match the Ad to the content of ur site.

    good luck!

Godaddy is probably the worst hosting company in the world. Read some reviews before you even consider going with them. If you're a programmer they have so many limitations on what you can do and have really horrible customer service.

Godaddy may have bad hosting, but as a domain registrar they are just super. The also have very good email programs.
