Adsense free directory?? Good or bad

I was just going through the submitted sites on my free directory, and a thought hit me as I saw that so many of these submitted sites seemed to be built only with adsense in mind.
You know the types of sites, information sites, just about any site with .info for a tld, mfa's etc.

The thought was, build a directory and not allow any sites into it that use adsense!
Is this a good thought, bad thought, so-so thought or excellent thought?

 

It Can only help. It's another backlink to your website.

 

I wouldn't make generalizations like "all sites using adsense are bad". There are tons of legitimate sites that supplement their revenues (or make the bulk of their revenues) via Adsense. Would you not include major online destinations that contain thousands of pages of unique, valuable content, simply because they have Adsense?

While I would encourage you to maintain a no-MFA policy, you may want to reconsider your thoughts on banning any site with Adsense. Generalizations rarely work.

I dont think it would be a good idea at all.

I think we can all tell pretty quick whether a site has a use on the net or not. If you dont accept sites with adsense, then you should not accept sites that sell ad space, have affiliate links, sell a product, or make any attempt at making money.

The point is this. We all have to make a little from a site. Otherwise, there is not much point. The difference is whether the site is something useful to the net, or if it something that is put up just to gain a click every now and then, while the webmaster builds 100 more.

 

You'd be excluding one heck of a lot of good sites from your directory, not just bad ones.

 

Adsense site with a good PR is ok. They are not banned and will be good to link to. But dont bother linking to loads of them . I would prefer more commercial links on my directory personally. They make it better and useful for the viewer....

 

Just took the adsense of one of our sites ............. maybe commercial links not many is the best way forward

 

Number 1 lots of good sites use adsense. Number 2 sites will just not put up adsense and submit then put it up later.
