Can I signup for an adsense account and tell them it is for use solely on Youtube?

I think you post on wrong forum, there is forum related to adsense.

I think if you want to sign up for adsense, you must have your own wensite (proved by your id on the webmaster).
And the website must be have at least 6 months (at least the domain), and have some traffic.
after that, hope google will approve you.

    good luck :)

You will have to sign up as a youtube partner.

You will have to be invited. And it might only be on a video by video basis.

I haven't looked much into it, but I got an invite just a few weeks ago for a video that I got 15,000 visits. From what I could gather it would only be revenue sharing on that one video. I haven't clicked on the link and tried to apply yet.

For that you need to be a YouTube Partner

    1. Have good unique videos with no copyrighted stuff (music, concerts etc.)
    2. Have plenty of subscribers (500+), lots of profile and video views
    3. Check which countries can join - right now it's US, UK, Australia, Ireland and a few more.

Becoming a partner isn't that easy.

I meant that it helps a lot. If you've got plenty of views and unique videos then you can make it too, of course.

    Hm,

You get 0.2$ for 1000 views.
    Your video has ~50.000 views - 10$
You upload 5 videos per month - 50$
100 of those 50.000 viewers will click on an ad - 20$

Around 80$ for all of that. I'm not a Partner so these numbers may not be totally right but it's about that.

If your videos have 200.000 views and you upload 5 per month, that's 200$ from views only.

Of course, one is dreaming, something is actually advertising your channel and creating useful videos.
