Adsense for Social Websites/Networks that *might* have innapropriate content

I am launching a social network soon with Google Adsense on it. It is very general and everyone talks about what they want.

Occasionally, people may talk about adult topics, like porn, sex, gambling etc. I can censor certain words but I would rather not censor a huge list since thats alot of overhead on the server.

So my question is - how big of a deal would it be if just a few pages out of hundreds had some mildly inappropriate content. Most of the site is geared towards people of all ages and family-friendly content, but we want people to have free speech and talk about whatever they want. I am OK with PSA's in inappropriate sections of the website.
I am following every other rule in the TOS, have positioned the ads very neatly, making sure not to confuse users.

So what is the chance I will get banned and how can I avoid it?

My guess is that if it's just a few pages out of hundreds it would slip under Google's radar - unless someone reports you.

You'll have to decide whether you want to take the risk or not, since Google does warn that you are responsible for all the content on your site.

Maybe instead of filtering out keywords, you could use a keyword filter to post different non-Adsense ads to pages with adult content.

I am in the same boat with my Yoosubmit.com website, i don't control who or what content is added, i cn only check daily and remove any inappropriate material.

In your case i think you should look into a script that will allow you to filter words / posts and replace the adsense code with black label ads for any posts matching adult material.

    Good luck

Try using a few ads from Neverblue or PepperJam
