I'm new to Google AS for Search. I just set up one search box and I was wondering if it has the same status as the AdLinks units.

So, am I allowed to run test search queries?

(Obvously, I'm not allowed to click the ads that will appear.)

play safe. its better u not risk the search on ur own search box. technically avoiding the click will make u fine. but see what happened to me. i have this news archiver and i took one night off to enter as many feeds as possible to start with. what happened is there was CPM ads showing and each time i submit a feed the page gets refreshed and the impressions increased. the next thing i know is my adsense account lost for ever for fraudulent activity. if i knew this wasnt safe then i wud have removed the ads before my data entry.

You don't get money for viewing the pages, just for clicking the sponsored links. You could always ask a google rep.
