AdSense for Search issue

I asked a few questions about AdSense for Search by emailing the AdSense Team and got a respond. I would like to share it here as I think it might be useful to all.

I asked: Can I add in intial values to my search box?
They said: We ask publishers not to add in intial values to the search box as this is against the ToS. The ToS states that publisher might not edit any parts of the AdSense code. (However, from the tone, we know that AdSense is not officially approving this BUT allows its in a certain extent.)

I got another question but they didn't answer me directly. I asked if it is against the ToS to ask users to search with my search box without asking them to click on the ads. Does anyone here know if it is against the ToS?

    Thanks for any help.

Why would you want to "ask" them to search? Just leave the search box there for them to use it. People recognizes search box when they see one, and they certainly know how to use a Google serach box. You "asking" them to do anything regarding your Adsense items is just asking for trouble.

I agree with jack... keithchan brother, there is no need of adding such a phrase in your search twext box.. Even without any text written in it i am getting more than 20-40 searches daily and revenue from it. so dont think of anything which may go against TOS and enjoythe G-MONEY

Thanks for the comments, I removed the pre-populated words.
