I was reading Shoemoney's site today which has an entry about AdSense for Search and how you don't get to see your users queries with it. Well someone in the comments section said that there are ways, without modifying the code, to get user search data. Anyone have any idea how this is done? I think it'd be the best of both world to get the search data and also still use the AdSense for Search, since most people don't want to have to write their own search function for their site. http://www.shoemoney.com/2007/09/04/are-you-selling-your-search-data-for-pennies
You can use queries to anlayse what people are searching and perhaps writie content to answer their questions.
Ummm...what I'm asking is HOW do you see the queries that people are searching for with the AdSense for Search? Google doesn't usually show you this data but apparently there are hacks to do it?
It's right in the webserver logfiles if you are having the search goto a page on your site rather than the default google page (there is an option for changing that on your Adsense search control panel. If you define a search results page and put Analytics on it, you can view the terms there...I do it all the time.
No, I think we're referring to queries that are made specifically using the search box on our site, not in general. At least, that's what I'm referring to.
