OK, adsense for search doesn't pay a lot. But it gives me something. It's a shame that the CTC is so lo as it converts pretty well. On thing that it is useful for is an insite search. If you've got most or all of your pages indexed, it can be used for searching your site - that's what I use it for. 40% of users who have used the search on mysites then click on an ad. About 1% of my visitors use the search. The way I look at it is that I'm better getting something rather than nothing.
Adsense for Search works fine on my blog - Ka Webspy News and Journal. I received 100 to 500 searches and earns 0.1 to 10 $ a day. There are days that Adsense for Search works better than Adsense Ads.
For me it is not good - 12 searches in 2 months. I also wonder if it's somehow reducing the other adsense income I was making because that has gone down since I put it on. I've been thinking of removing it for a while now and that day is getting very close.
What have I learned? Some folks are impatient – mostly because of semantics. Nobody seems to get charged for Adsense for Search. So don’t worry about it. Some folks are having very good success with Adsense for Search. "There are days that Adsense for Search works better than Adsense Ads." Wow! So, like everything else, it depends. Try it. You might like it. Be advised that you are in it forever. It does remain in your Adsense stats. The option to remove it does not exist. You can only “not add the code†anymore, in order to not use it. You will, however, see it in your stats, forever. Kind of annoying. They let you in, but they don’t let you out. On the “My Account†page, under “Product Subscriptionsâ€, there is no [edit] option. It disappears as soon as you sign up.
