Adsense for Domains - Does CPC vary?

Hi friends.....I have an Adsense for Domain website....I initially received 4 clicks and my CPC was being shown as $0.80 and hence, my estimated earnings for today was $3.20.

Later, I saw that I had received 12 clicks but was unhappy to see that my total earnings is now $3.76 :(

So just need to know, how does this work? Does CPC vary so much per ad? I guess I am now getting less than $0.08 per click.....can someone explain me the concept?

    Thanks in advance.....

Nobody knows exactly how it works, but from experience it is a lot to do with location and which keyword the ad targets.

For example if your keyword is money, the cpc from UK is £1, the same keyword but from India will be something like £0.05. So depending on where the click comes from you will earn a different amount.

In the same way your targeted keyword may be money but the ad that is clicked might be related to something else "make money" for example which could have a lower cpc.

yes it varies so much like this. mainly the top side ads are a little expensive than the lower or left side ads. and there are different type of ads showing in your site. so it can happen.
    thanks
