Hi all, I am considering to implement adsense for search in my site (I only put adsense for search in my 404 page right now). Would you be so kind to share here, earning ratio amongst the two products (if you have both in your site) Thanks.
I just use Adsense for Search as my site's Search Engine, and I make a little bit of money through it, however, I'm not sure of the exact ratio.
I use both and my adsense for search is averaging 107 for the month with 1233 searches do the math for the CTR if you want to
you need to have lot of traffic to make few pennies from search box. not only less people seach, CTR is also low as it is a 2 step process. people search and they are directed to a search result page where they must click also for you to earn for that click. since its a 2 step process, CTR is usually low. search box is good for high traffic sites as a complement to existing content ads.
For me, adsense for search generate pennies in a month. I prefer to have text ads in my sites, they perform the best for me.
No, I have Adsense for Search Set up to only search through my site. It still displays related ads, I do not click these ads.
Thanks. I have put adsense for search in my site. In a way, it's competing my own site search. I can see that the ads are much more relevant with the (google's) custom search, and some clicks really pay much higher. Contrary to popular beliefs here, the CTR is also higher, way higher. I'll give it a try for one week or so, and I will provide my feedback here next week.
Search for me has higher CTR and CPM but the number of users is only a small fraction compared with the text ads. Its worthwhile in some sections of site but i wouldn't have it side wide.
I'm trying to put it sitewide now, hoping that i can get a sitelink similar to this, it's cool: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=source+forge&btnG=Search
You cannot compare monetizing via google search and content. You can consider google search in your site if you really want a search form in your site and hence earn from them and you cannot consider it as the direct earning way just like you google content ads.
Well It completely depends on the niche My niche makes it so that there are NO relevant ads to display for the search..... But it is nice for site search
