They don't own a stake in FF, but the download does include the Google Toolbar. Unfortunatly, there are two thread going on about this. The FF option is only open to US publishers right now.
I hate these "US publishers only" programs.... Internet is Internet. It's something virtual. It's netokratia... And there are always people with bounded point of view, and these people still live within geographical borders. And it's too bad to hear this BS from Google.
Just saw this on the Adsense blog. I know it was mentioned elsewhere but I wantent opinions on Google in general. Looks like Google is now operating a referral program for getting people to download firefox. Attack on M$?
Calm down. I'm sure it's down to a legal issue rather than trying to keep all the US dollars in the US. They're working on an international program too.
Legal issues? Paying out $ for adsense is legal, paying for adsense referral campaign is legal and paying for FF is illegal
I think that program should make sense for your resource. Don't you think so? You are specializing in adsense, you are a rather know forum for adsense discussions. I, for example, read several threads here to get to know people opinion about adsense first before even joining the adsense program. I think you should collect many adsense publishers here by that referral link Good luck to you with it. TOS say that only one. BTW, did anybody pay attention to that "up to 1$"? Will there be some smart pricing and that "up to" will turn into 5 cents?
It's funny how such a company as google can forget things like that, in the end it's all a human job... but the background really puzzles me... they are always talking about how things should blend in and we end up with a button with a standard white background...hmmmm
Yes. It can be called a human-factor, but not for companies like Google. Sometimes it is really strange. The same problem is for example with adsense for search block. When put over color background, we can see white borders of Google logo. Bright example is on top of resource from my signature. When I asked google if I can correct their logo, they answered me negative - it's violation of TOS.
we here in germany have at the moment no possibility to integrate Links for Google Toolbar and for Firefox. Why? Will this come later? And no textlinks for the Adsense refferal Programm. The german text on the button "this site ...monetarisiert" is not a german word and very very unusual!! Maybe it will become now a new fashionword (buzzword) here in germany
When a user you’ve referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you’ll receive up to $1 in your account, depending on the user’s location. location,, hmm.. city level?? state leve?? country level??
Quick question... Since this is a referral program, I assume we can point users towards the buttons right? "click here and download firefox" etc... ?
