I can't believe that AdSense just announced that they're 'retiring' non North American, Latin American and Japanese publishers from their own referral program. What sense is this? If your site has big US traffic what difference does it make if you blog from the moon? The change in payouts also removes incentive from promoting them if you do happen to live where they consider valuable publishers to live. My thoughts on the announcement here
That's rubbish that they disallow it in certain countries. I'm sure the publishers would prefer lower payouts than none at all. Where in Australia are you?
That really sux and i can imagine publishers who were doing extremely good with adsense referrals are gonna suffer. It never worked for me. Not even 1 referral under me went on to make $100 in 6 months. I wish i knew the guys lol anyways. I guess google is saving for the recession. Edit: Darren you forgot to write that they totally terminated their referral program for international publishers except USA and Japan. Wonder whats so good about japan that they still hold good?
Well, that's bollocks for me. I've had 2 referrals since I put them up - one for Adsense, the other fore Firefox w/ Google Toolbar. The firefox referral earned me $4, the adsense referral earned me $1. And I'm sure that won't be the lowest they are paying out on Adsense referrals. I expect this will take a major hit on Asian publishers.
