I don't know what's happening exactly. Yesterday, I've had 11 clicks on the site, and it generated about $0.5 ... I said about, to not reveal the real number, as it's not allowed in this forum. And today, I got 11 clicks again, but generated about $9.5 What's wrong? It says that yesterday my ecpm was 0.5 and today was about 25.00 or something. I don't understand? What does this mean?
The eCPM will fluctuate daily depending on what advertisers are active that day and how much they bid for the keywords your site is targeting. Mine eCPM fluctuates somewhere between 5 to 50 on any given day.
holy moly, from 0.5 to 50, that's just incredible! Is there anything else affecting the ecpm other than bids from advertisers? Like, the CTR for example? I'm asking that to know , like, let's say that if your site is huge and only gets 10 clicks, it wont be worth as much as a small site with 10 clicks. U know what I mean? So yea, does the CTR influence the eCPM too ?
WOW mine can flucuate but not with that large of range usually within a few bucks but not ten's of dollars unless it is a new site.
CTR does not influence eCPM. eCPM is just how much money you make per 1000 impressions. It doesn't matter if it took 1 click or 100 click to do it. So if you have 1000 impressions and get 100 clicks for $0.01 each, your eCPM is $1.00. If you have 1000 impressions and get 1 click for $1.00 your eCPM is $1.00
Understood. But what I mean is ( I think that i'm ont being clear ): Does google have a way of saying: Hey! This site has a better CTR, so why not send some paying advertisers over there to make more money to our self? Wouldnt that be logical of them? Not to send high-paying advertisers to sites that got a small ctr? What do u guys think? Maybe I'm plain wrong though.
Why not send the high paying advertisers to ALL the sites? Low paying advertisers don't get shown at all. The one exception to this is probably CPM advertisers. If a site has lousy CTR, it probably makes sense to show CPM ads on it.
ECM varies substantially depending on the value of clicks taht take place from day to day. The best way to analyse such data is on a monthly basis rather than daily.
MFA means Made For Adsense. There are many websites which are made only for ads and have little content. Worse part is, these sites advertise with adwords, and they are a headache for adsense publishers if such ads appear on thier site becoz they are very low paying...!!
