I have heard many say that running both together, they have not seen any downturn in their Adsense earnings. Why did you stop running them on your forums Tearabite?

I still run Kontera in my forum area but i removed Adsense from that part of my site because the CTR was so low it was dragging-down my eCPM and it was not worth the few cents per day.. Now I rotate auction Ads and right now i'm trying YPn again in the forum sidebar - with Kontera..

That's pretty darn good, and I think most would agree that it is far above average for a forum, and not typical..

I would say that 5.08% is slightly above average. It is well higher than mine, but I would say it is slightly above average if you have good rankings in the search engines for your forums and not many people that currently post.

The main reasons for having low CTR in forums is because of the amount of people browsing the forums quickly to find threads to post to and then they post making more page views for the forum resulting in a lower CTR. If you don't have many posters and more Search Engine traffic then it is likely to increase your CTR.

That's infact the same with web directories. I was earning around $5 - $10 eCPM on 1,000 pageviews a day on average at one point, mainly because I stopped all of the automated submissions which is useless for any site really. The reasons for this is because you want to people to come to your site and submit theirs rather than use a bot and never see your site.
