i'm going to hazard a guess here and say that youtube is a premium publisher, which means that they are on the search network, not our content network??

so the only way that youtube could pull ads from us is if the advertiser was running his ads on both search and content... i'd like to believe that most advertisers are not doing that these days??? they pick one or the other?

Earnings almost dropped to 50%. Ads on pages are totally irrelevant and I'm geting a cent or 2 per click.

Sure, google has made some changes.

Same here, 3 days in a row but CPM is back to almost normal levels but the ads are less relevant. Youtube is definitely pulling inventory, that is huge inventory to fill over there, Google would rather pay itself first and publishers later, all the premium stuff will hit youtube first I would think. If I ran Google, a publisher like myself would get filled last in the chain and a property like Youtube first. Any thoughts? I think financial sites may not get hit as much by Youtube soaking up a lot of inventory.

yeah I have been doing ok for the last two days. high average. it is no 137 dollars a day but I think Ill make a record today if the next 1.5 hours goes well.

I just read about a $4.69 click. if I could only get 50 of those a day I'd be a happy boy :)

How the fact that Google purchased Youtube will have an effect on adsense earning?

Every day I get some clicks in the range of $4 to $6. That's not a big deal - Even I got $17-$18 clicks few months back. The problem is at the end of the day my earnings remain just near average. That drives me mad.

There is a limited amount of ad inventory and companies budgets are limited by clicks or page views. If You tube does X amount of clicks, this draws from a limited amount of adspend within adsense. For example, Company A has a budget to spend 20K today on adsense. Youtube may take 18K of this and this leaves the other publishers with 2K of that budget pie.

I could be wrong but most likely The Youtube purchase is not good for publishers, its about suppy and demand. Google just flooded the market with supply.

Google have been running ads of YouTube for months - nothing new has changed since the purchase as far as I'm aware.
