Adsense earnings drop - my sky is falling

I see these posts every now and again and ususally think people are just nuts or finding a pattern becasue they're looking for one, but I figured I'd ask.

In the past 7 days, my adsense earnings have been less than 10% what they were in any previous week for the past 6 months. I had one day where google recorded 0 clicks. I haven't had that sinse I started the program in a couple years. Could there be some sort of problem? Should I contact Google, or just take my own advice and not find a culprit for a random occurance?

if you impression drop at the same rate, you should check and see if your adsense code pub - id is edit by hacker

Believe it may be because of this screwed up update. One of our sites went up in PR to 5, but adsense is really sucking right now on that site. Traffic still the same. SERPs dropping a position or two. Will probably be like this until all DC's are updated. Just keep trying to drive more traffic! 'Tis all you can do.

I would say it depends on how much you make a day. If you make $50-$100/day, and now you are all of a sudden making $5-$10/day with the same amount of traffic, pageviews and no other major changes to your site... then I would contact Google. Or at least start implementing new monetization strategies.

If you were making a few dollars a day, now making a few cents a day, with a few clicks a day... then just one advertiser lowering their bids could cause that kind of drop.

    I'm seeing the same trend.

Sites now have higher page rank but CTR down to the floor.

Best to wait till the update is completed before getting too concerned.

Kaptain Kangaroo is on the money, build more links, drive more traffic.

    lmao adsense sucks for publishers
    adwords sucks for advertisers

I can just see the headline

"breaking news: "the plex" is going downhill, stock is taking a dump, in desperate move management allows tons of true MFA's in paid search section"

I see this as all too common as well. I personally have not seen any problems with what I am doing. My CTR remains constant and so do my earnings.

Is your site still ranked? Perhaps your site is not getting traffic because your ranking dropped. Or like someone previously mentioned, your ID was hacked!

I have seen a drop in earnings today, but I think that is due to my own stupidity in editing my site keywords. I have changed them back and hopefully the average CPC will go back up. Clicks and impressions have gone up by a few thousand though so its a pain in the ass.

Thanks all for the concern. Everything is back to normal. Impressions were constant and the id stayed mine. Thanks though for all the help.

I did notice a small decrease in earnings...
But i think that this becuse there was a little increase in the traffic, while CTR remained the same (relativly high)..

IMHO... google is going down... but they THINK they know what they are doing.

The good thing is that I will be the last one to leave the sinking ship :)
as long as there are money in THAT ship.
