    Wow, you really got torched!

I am glad I stopped in here. Most of my online income is from Adsense, although I planned on getting several non-adsense sites going earning income from affiliate programs. Reading your post puts a sense of urgency on the whole matter!

Diversification is key. Rely on one source of income and you will ultimately and eventually lose all. It is a sure thing.

There are other contextual ad programs besides AdSense. Kontera is one.

One thing that helps quite a bit w.r.t. maintaining steady AdSense earnings is to have a variety of different sites rather than 1 big earner - some go up and some go down and you get some stability month to month. Also, mix in some closely related affiliate links, or at least try them.

Kontera, as I mentioned, uses a text-type link and you can run it on the same pages as Adsense - I have verified this with Google (at least I verified it last year). And the best part is, it won't adversely affect Adsense earnings.

I have same problem with adsense, my earning are down to 40%. It is really disappointed for me!
If the situation will be same for next some weeks, publishers will ofcourse starts leaving adsense and try some other ad networks.

As with most things, they have their ups and downs. Persistence in marketing as in the stock market will pay off in the long term.

It is quite sad that Google doesn't have a major competitor in this area. Google can decide the sharing percentage at its own will.
