Adsense drop is a reflection of the state of the economy now.

I always thought adsense sucked, I don't know how you guys can depend on it so much and just be at the mercy of Google. You have to diversify your income streams, you cannot just do adsense and that's it.

I read in a couple of places that if you remove all adsense for 20 days, and put it back on - this "smart pricing" thing will be gone, and you'll be back in 'normal' mode

    can anyone confirm this?

It's when Adsense pays less and less per click to the website publisher, because the traffic they're bringing to the adsense ads aren't converting for the advertiser(s).

Conversions=a sign up, a purchase, an email or phone inquiry, etc.

I think we should always have alternative ads on reserve. Adsense very strict! They can ban you for invalid click for no reason! At least we wouldn't have a clue.

So getting alternative income stream is a must IMO.

For one of niche sites I was getting around $0.30 per click then all of a sudden it's like $0.08 per click...this is awful

If you are getting clicks but getting paid less than normal...on the same kind of ads...it's a good bet.

The thing that get's me is, how do you know that clicks from your site, are converting less than clicks on the same ads on other sites ?
Where is the record? Where is the proof? Do they just take the advertisers word for it, or do you just take Googles word for it ?

Once they get on the landing or sales page, I have done my job...if they convert is up to the advertiser at that point. It's BS.

The price of advertising doesn't go down on any other medium because conversions are low, nobody does that crap in the entire world of advertising, except Google, and the only person it screws is the person displaying the advertising.

i guess the problem for me is not the smart pricing but drop in clicks, checking previous monthly statistics, clicks have constantly reduced every month. any help?
