Yepp its down and it will be back within 2-5 hours, or at max 6. Dont worry though, you wont lose any earnings for sure.

This is nothing unusual. It happens quite often on a Saturday and is routine. Stats go down for several hours and then come back and get updated slowly. You're not losing any income but your stats may report lower than expected earnings when the come back online as it takes a while for everything to get updated. Focus on improving your sites, link building or simply take the rest of the day off from checking your adsense stats!
Because when it's night in the northern hemisphere, it's daytime in the southern hemisphere, and the same with eastern and western times. They just do it at the same day and time every week, so people know what to expect. Makes perfect sense to me. My ISP, Verizon, is always glitchy on Sunday morning, EST, because that's when they do maintenance. Sometimes I can't even get online for 2 or 3 hours.
