So, yesterday I was working on my site for about 5 hours. One of my ads at the top, had to be put in first, or all the tables would collapse. So I got about 200 impressions from myself, looking it over/checking content, etc. Today, I recieved a mail telling my my AdSense was disabled. I appealed to them, but I've learned that life is rarely fair.
Wow, I need to be more careful in that case. Adsense is on my sites 99% of the time I am making them, and I have done similar things to you. It is a pain to take it out and put it in all the time. If 200 impressions is such a big deal, why on Earth can they not implement a simple option to not display ads to a certain IP (ie you). Just show an image of example ads to see what they look like in whatever color/position... I guess adblocker is the answer
So sad to hear that. Are you sure its because of the impressions? Have you cheked your stats for any suspicious activity? I always recommend adlogger or any other tracking software to keep you safe. You should've removed your pub-ID from the code for testing purpose.
Just remove the publisher id from the ad and it will still display but wont affect your earnings if you click it or impressions etc.
Im completely pissed right now though. I mean I finally start going about AdSense seriously, thinking about making some money off of it, and they pull something like this? Anyway, what are other revenue generators such as Google Adsense? Im not stopping my project because of this, I'll sign with another revenue generator.
They banned the AdSense Account. And, I did receive 2 clicks, but it was from friends who I asked to review site, and who might have seen an intresting ad. All of the ads go along the lines of, "Make $3000 in 3 days", etc, so it might have been intresting.
He didn't say he clicked his own ads. If you are using the same account for all your sites and you get banned from google you are banned all over .
Just to get an impression, how lenient are the Adsense team? I have a reasonable case, and it is over a simple error.
I don't know anyone who has been banned just for generating impressions (although that's not to say it's not possible). In 99.99% of cases there's invalid clicks there too.
Heck, how'd you appeal to them? Mine was disabled after 3 years of loyal, fair use and I can't figure out how nor get an answer
It may have been those clicks or maybe something else but I don't think it's your impressions. I've contacted G in the past about generating lots of impressions while working on my sites. They responded with a message that basically said don't worry about it, it's not a problem. They did ask that I "not reload pages excessively" but they didn't say what "excessively" means. However, I've generated 200 impressions when working on site development and never had a problem.
Sounds to me (your comment about ads saying 'make $3000 in 3 days') as if this site was probably some sort of money making / MFA site. That being the case I think it likely someone tried to help you out by deliberately clicking. Google are smart.
Hmm, well that was nice of the person. Btw, if Google were smart, wouldn't they have figured this out too?
Google can figure things out when it suits them to. Sorry to say they probably won't feel any remorse about ridding the web of yet another money making type site. They'll also come to the conclusion: Money making site = webmaster wants to make money = webmaster more likely to cheat AdSense. Even if you've done absolutely nothing wrong, 99.9% people in your situation have justly been brought to account - convincing them you're in the innocent 0.1% is nearly impossible.
I can't believe this is the real reason. I've viewed my own that many times on different occasions and never a problem with Google
