I've read places about filtering our the url's of cheap ads so that only the best paying ads are displayed each time. It seems like by using this tool, you could filter out ads that aren't being clicked on , thus improving your CTR and your earnings. Has anyone else tried the Adsense Tracker tool?

To be honest, I think I would wait until I hit $99/day.

I bought the tool so that I could see the CTR of individual pages. Theoretically, this will allow me to see what type of pages to build more of and what pages to stop building.

Unfortunately, it appears that I am stubborn and that I'm just going to build whatever pages I feel like building.

That's no fault of the tool, but it does limit it's ROI. One related limitation of the tool is that it doesn't sort pages by CTR, so you have to do a lot of visual scanning. (Next, I will try Cut & Paste into Microsoft Excel.)

The tool also shows which ads get clicked more, which could also help to determine what content to build.

The tool shows some very interesting stats, like all of the people who click on 3+ ads. I see one guy on my gun site who clicked 19 ads. I hope he found what he was looking for!

The "referrals by domain" report which started this thread is also very interesting, although I don't know what I will do with the data.

Overall, the tool is almost endlessly amusing. But I don't know if I will see any ROI from it due to my innate stubborness.

is this the tool you guys are referring to?

    http://www.markcarey.com/adsense/

how does it work? it says: 'works with php and mysql'. the pages where my ads are displayed are .jsp even though my host supports both php and mysql. so would i even be able to utilize the tool?

    thanks a lot

You put this one line of code right after the end of your AdSense code:
    <script src='http://www.example.com/astracker/ast.php'></script>
    Code (markup):

    Thanks a lot, Will

i looked around the site. the only thing that I really need in that software is tracking which ads are clicked on. does it actually say: there was a clickthru to this and that domain and the amount paid out was X much?

Does anyone have experience with this:

    Yahoo: 99%
    MSN: 0.9%
    Google: in traces

Really strange. I have so called new pages(2-3 months). Maybe Y is faster? Any help?

I forget: about 400 pages is indexed on G, and 600 on Y!

For each clickthrough, you can see the IP, the destination, the page, the referrer, and the keywords (if applicable).

But... it doesn't tie into the AdSense portal, so it won't show you the amount paid.

If this is all you need then, there is a free solution floating around the forums. If you need help finding it, then PM me. If you want a much more detailed report, then the tracker Will speaks of is probably a better fit.
