I started a new blog on May 1 and I have to say that results have been extraordinary in terms of traffic. I had a few original story that was linked to all the major blogs within my category and drove a lot of traffic to my blog. I had over 13,000 unique visitors in 5 days and over 375,xxx hits on the blog.

I am using Google Adsense and the results have been disappointing. My conversion rate is very very low. 0.3-.9%. I am using an ad in the top banner that is strictly Image ad. I also have a 300x250 in the top right corner that is both image and text ad. And a 160x600 text ad down the column on the right hand side

All the traffic I have been receiving I feel my conversion rate should be higher.

I dont want to display the url but feel free to PM me.

What other techniques do people use to get better conversion rate? Any other ad programs recommended? I am using wordpress for the blog

    Any help is kindly appreciated.

To increase your CTR, you need to optimize your ads placements.

I suggest you try different ads placements, try different ad units like 336*280 or the 250*250 ad unit.

I put a ad unit at the top of first post and it works very well.
