    Here's one common mistake by Adsense noobs: Thinking you are smarter than Adsense and can get one "over" them.

    Absolutely right Jack.

    And running other contextual advertising along with AdSense is another common mistake.

    good tips to follow. Although most of them are there in the Adsense TOS. Most of us are not used to read all those text..

    In the long run sometimes we forgot the basics about AdSense and other web matters ;)

    I wasn't aware that they finally updated the TOS with this. Is this officially in the TOS that you MUST add borders?

    There are some inputs about this matter in another topic where I provided a link to an online free AdSense Template Generator, in which you can see how images are integrated with borders to differentiate advertisement.

    Some of those are good ideas, but I wouldn't use a few of them as they clearly violate the TOS.

    Secondly, I'd opt for code using div/css instead of tag ssssssoup!.. yuk =>

    div#h {width:100px;margin:auto}
    #h h1 {font-size:16px;font-weight:600;font-family:verdana,arial}

    <div id="h"><h1>Hexed</h1></div>

    Indeed, div is as good option to keep cross-browser compliance.

    About TOS violation, doing a research you will find that most sources agree with using images to increase CTR, while you don't use them to mislead visitors:

    However, nobody better than Google Staff to say the last word regarding your particular concerns. I recommend you contact them for clarification :)
