Seem's like www.adsense.com is now redirecting directly to the adsense login... wich was not there is not so long.. they ( adsense.com ) where claiming "If you think you can get rich quick doing nothing but count the money rolling in, please contact Google who has taken and used our business name without permission or compensation"

Anybody aware of this transaction? Ho well... maybe they will come up with a product name that I own... :D

Wow that sucks. No compensation. That's just like the story about nissan.com.

So adsense.com was yours? And so since it's redirecting now, I presume that they indeed bought it right?

Google didn't buy it according to the statement on the website. It says "without compensation". Google just took it over using there high paid lawyers I suppose.

Tisk tisk. They should have just sold the domain name to G and changed their companies name.

Well who say's that Google did'nt bought them specially if they where up since 1995... I am not in publishing since 9 years but in the IT since 11 and I cant recall any "adsense" as we know them now back in 1995... So maybe they have indeed offer them a compensation and bought the domain?

Alexa still has the original website details up so it must've just recently happened. http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main?url=adsense.com
It's a great name for a Marketing company.

After reading about nissan.com, I doubt Google gave them compensation. Also, if they did, why would they put that disclaimer about Google on their website? Wouldn't they be happy and just leave that statement out?

DaDman, there wasn't a pay-per-click program called adsense back then. It was just the name of a Marketing Company.

Ok, then we must assume that G as bought the domain from this marketing company right.. Cause correct me somebody if I am wrong but if the name adsense was registered to a company , well it means that it was they're name.. not Google pay per click program name..

So.. :D All this to say, I wonder how much they (Google) have offered for the domain name. As it's obvious that adsense.com is not the previous company ( the one claiming that G as stolen they're name ) anymore.. it is redirecting to the adsense login..

Aha!! Thanks for the article. I feel no pain for the original owners now. They should have trademarked the name especially when it costs less then $400 to do so. And it's first come, first served when it comes to trademarking.

Interresting. Thanks for the lead path. Readed the blog and got to the original article on wired.
"Not registering a trademark with the federal registry doesn't mean a business is powerless, said Corynne McSherry, a staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation. But that can make it difficult to go after a business that has the same name trademarked." -> Well... specially if that so called "business" is Google........!

    Ok well pretty clear.
Thanks for the info. was interresting.
