I installed adsense on a site recently, and statcounter reports were people click on links, and it reports 8 clicks on adsense, but in my adsense account there are only 2 clicks registered.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, it happens sometimes, but I do not know the reason behind it, but I can't believe statcounter reports.

I don't think you can use a stat-counter to track your adsense since the ads are generated via javascript. Javascript generates the content client-side, meaning in their browser, not as hard code before it's served to the browser like php does. I may be wrong, but this is my understanding.

Adsense tracks click through correctly. May be some one would have tried clicking on a ad and clicked the back button within a small time which might have understood by adsense as fraudulent.
