adsense "click to close" icons..is this new?

I guess they're now officially introduced. We'll see how this effects CTR..

 

yeah, looks like some of you guys are seeing this too. I disagree with what Google said, there's no way that this is adware...I don't have anything running that would do this, neither at home or at work. Also, there is only one particular version of one particular ad that shows this....strange.

Maybe that lady from Google wasn't aware of this?

 

Ok well that proves my theory wrong.

 

Haven't seen them personally, although I have seen some new "Ads By Google" logos that look nicer IMO.

 

I'd hate it if someone clicked the X and I'd have all that un-used real-estate on my website! Some sort of alternative should be offered

 

Looks like that would be against the TOS. It's tricking people to click the ad... is it not?

 

I saw it again, on a car message board that I visit:

 

I noticed that they are getting ubiquitous now.

 

i have been seeing this "x" on google ad for weeks now ..

it appear on flash banner only i think

 

That's definitely on the ad, correct?

I didn't know Google Adwords allowed that

I saw an X on my own site near the ads

Didnt try it coz I didnt want to get banned

 

by clicking on the "x", it only close the ads
