Adsense check question

I got yesterday my first check from Google Adsense.It is for 103 $.
My problem is that when I went to the bank to get the money they start saying some crazy things,that tey couldn't give me the money because I don't have an account there and stuff like that.The bank was Citibank.I went there because I saw at Adsense FAQ that they use this bank for the chacks.Also,on the chack there was a Citibank logo.
Did anybody of you had the same problem?Should I go to another bank where I have an account?Please help!

 

You can't just cash the check you need to pay it into an account and then withdraw the money when the check clears, so pay it into your bank account.

 

Google Adsense only issued crossed checks so you need to bank it into a bank account. Only cash check drawn to 'Cash' that you can encash to get the money.

It does not matter that you go to Citibank, they will not give you the money unless you have a bank account there and deposit the check into your account.

All you need to do is to bring the check to your bank and deposit it into your bank account and you will get the money in your account within a day or two.

 

There are check-cashing places, but DO NOT use them. They cash your check for a 6%-20% fee, which is ridiculous. The only people that use these places are people who are hiding money from the government or their ex-wives. There's a reason you only find them in the seediest neighborhoods. Just open a bank account, it's not that hard.

 

Just deposit that check to your bank where you have an account... Or if you dont have an account then open one with citi bank itself...

How long does it take to clear the check?Also what do you mean with "you need to pay it into an account and then withdraw the money"?Do I have to give the money from my pocket first?

 

He probably means that first open an account, deposit the cheque, let it get cleared and then withdraw your funds.

It normally take 2-5 working days for cheque to get cleared.

Hi, I also received my first check (and later banned by adsense). The citybank employee explained to me this way. I have to open a bank account with them and place $50 in the account and then after a month my check will be transacted to my bank account (plus I can withdraw the $50 that I first give them).

Sorry for the crappy words because I don't know what's the correct form of them.

 

Thank you all.Finally I went to another bank,where I have an account,and they made the deposit of the money to my account.Now I have to wait 5 days to get the money.

 

It should only take 3 days, They always say 5 for me but its always 3 lol
