Adsense channel.. ad_slot? amm..

I am confused, where is my chan?
I just enter the Adsense account and insert a new channel, clicked on the "get the code" area and i see:
    google_ad_slot = "3153364440";

Which i can assume it's the channel ID, but for example - on DP how do i set the "new Channel" on the main channel name or under this number: 3153364440?

Do not use channel ID on DP, as adsense has already been banned here :(

They have changed the ad system a little. Now you can edit the code directly from your Adsense account without touching the source code of your website. The Ad slot means the ID of the code your created within yoour account and it included everything like color, channel etc. You can learn more about Simplified Ad Management here & here

Hope that answers your question :)

leave the channel ID field blank on DP and on your adsense account, create a URL channel for forums.digitalpoint.com.
    That will do.

All, I think the new "Manage Ads" feature effectively eliminates the need for Channels! Why? In "AdSense Reports" you can now select "Show AdSense unit data" and "Group by Adsense unit" and bingo - you can track the performance of EACH ad you have created (or have imported) in "Manage Ads" :)

So I cannot see any reason for keeping AdSense Channels...

    What do the others think?

    K

PS: The above works best once you have converted ALL your ads into the "Manage Ads" system...

You use the "Manage Ads " tab only to set up and change your ads.

You get your stats and earnings from: Reports -> Advanced Reports, then select "Show AdSense unit data", click Select "All" and "Group by Adsense unit" then click on the "Show Report" button...

    Suppose it that way..

Old Adsense code (including channel ID etc) is now saved in new Manage Ads code...

So you will be able to see the earnings normally on your reports page.

Channels are/(were?) a way of finding out the impressions, clicks and earnings of each AdSense Ad you are showing on your site(s). But they were a hassle to set up and maintain.

You can now get this info without any setup from: Reports -> Advanced Reports, then select "Show AdSense unit data", click Select "All" and "Group by Adsense unit" then click on the "Show Report" button...

Of course, this assumes you have created or imported your ads into the "manage ads" function...

    Hope this helps.

I mean, if i set my ID on DP forum without a channel - i still will be able to see a report on this unit only?
    Thanks in advance!

OK, Login to your Adsense Account

    - Click Setup, Then Channels

    - Now, on the channel page, you should see a link called "URL Channels". This is found next to your Custom Channels link. Click the URL Channel link, and then click ad a new URL Channel. Simply enter forums.digitalpoint.com and volia, it will track all clicks and impressions that come through DP, without you having to enter a Channel on DP itself, just enter your PUBID!

    Hope That Helps!
