If you had to recommend just one book for someone to read on how to suceed with adsense what would it be?
I always recommend Eric Giguere's Make Easy Money with Google: Using the AdSense Advertising Program to people new to the program. It gives a very good overview of the program in layman's terms, and is even a fun read. And no, I don't get paid for saying this, and I am NOT Eric. http://www.amazon.com/Make-Easy-Mon...ef=sr_1_2/002-2665334-0108834?ie=UTF8&s=books
It depends what you're looking for. If you want a printed book, for a long time my book Make Easy Money with Google: Using the AdSense Advertising Program (MEMWG) was the only game in town. There are some other choices now, including Joel's book. MEMWG is strictly for newbies, someone who doesn't really know how to get a domain name, build a web site, etc. The focus is on creating quality content sites and blogs and monetizing that content. A good way to get a feel for which book might be right for you is to read the user reviews up on Amazon, since there are enough reviews (at least for mine and Joel's books) to actually mean something at this point. If you want an ebook, things are different and you should be careful, because there are a lot of outdated ebooks out there that are just repackaged versions of an ebook originally called "AdSense Empire". An ebook should be fairly up-to-date, otherwise what's the point of buying an electronic version? (Print versions are hard to keep up-to-date because thousands get printed at a time and the inventory needs to be sold before an update is considered, but a good ebook should be updated on a regular basis.) As I have just starting selling an ebook myself (see my sig) I'm not going to comment on which ebooks are best, as there's just no way I can appear to be objective about the topic. (But if you ask me about mine, I'll be happy to answer questions about it!) But as with the printed books, take the time to see what's out there and look for reviews of what's in the book. I have a free preview edition (table of contents and one chapter) that I'll send to anyone who asks, just PM me or drop me a note at . And yes, you can find a lot of information about AdSense here and elsewhere for free. I give a lot of good info out almost every day on my blog, for example. The nice thing about good books, though, is that they gather all the information into one place, distill the important points, and link everything together for real learning. I've written several books and know many other authors (print and electronic) and we really do try hard to make our books useful to our readers. I know there are a lot of wishy-washy ebooks out there that wouldn't get published by a conventional publisher, but that doesn't mean you should paint all the ebooks with the same brush.
Hah, that's funny. That's certainly not true for printed books, let me tell you, and it's a common misconception. The economics just don't work out that way. An author of a conventionally-published book makes money in other ways: through consulting gigs and speaking engagements, primarily, not from sales of the book.
Hey, Eric, you owe me money. I've been recommending your book everywhere online and offline for free for years now. LOL
