ive read adsense allows max 3 ad units per page. I have a small web page, displayed on mobile devices, it has 5 banners on it. All the same size, spread out various section of the page. BUT: all our part of SAME ad unit. All are same size. So if im just using one ad unit, *i.e the same code" will this be allowed and work? what i mean is will they be counted towards the click and get revenue? I noticed if i added one more ad (totalling 6) the 6th ad is not displayed, as though its not allowing more than five of the ad units.
Google Adsense allows displaying 3 graphic ad units + 2 text units at same time. Also 1 search unit. also it differs at other platforms like mobile ads, android ads from Google. Check this Google page: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/185665?hl=en where its very nicely explained and you can see / display examples of all the ad units types.
If you signup for Google DFP and use it then I've seen 4 ads load on a page before, also an easy way to work in a 2nd paying network for that 5th ad.
What is the point of adding more than 3 ads though? To clutter your page? Annoy your users? Make more money? Using AdSense - adding MORE ads does not mean making MORE money. Stick with strategically placing 3 ads and working on tweaking color options etc to draw a better CTR. Greed will lead to getting banned quick from AdSense, for a multitude of reasons.
