adsense banned; means owner-banned or domain-banned or both?

Is there any way to check with google adsense if a site is banned for adsense. Also if I buy an adsense-banned website is that mean I (new owner) can not place my own ads?

If the account is banned then the owner is banned . Sometimes the individual domain is also blocked if this happens the ads wont show on the site at all

usually both, kinda. They will usually watch the domains because it is associated with a banned adsense account, then when new adsense ads are added to the domain from a different adsense account they will try to make a connection and possibly bann the new account.

Right on. If your account is banned then I can still run ads on that site. If the site is banned, no one can run ads till if gets re approved or something.

it would depend to some extent on why the ban.

misleading placement of ads or in a way against the AUP ( such as please click to support us etc) would get the domain banned as well as the user.

false clicks probably more the account than the site as far as i can tell.

If you site is banned then you cannot run adsense ad on it. Another thing, if you are buying any website then make sure that the other person sends you latest adsense data. This will help you to make sure that the other site is banned or not.

Don't do any sort of transaction if the Adsense account is banned.
That itself shows Google hate that domain.

It's usually both. But if you are a reputable publisher with a good history with Adsense, then you can email and tell them that you have bought a Adsense-banned domain. They may not reply but may still approve it. However, wait 6 months after you buy the domain to contact Google. Only reputable publishers with a long and good history with Google would even be considered. In the meantime, you can work on the content and design and just build up traffic.
