I'm beginning to see more and more of "Google/Yahoo update - SERPs plunge - traffic drop - Adsense account closed for fraud". It's a very suspicious behavior of the Adsense system. This may be because of too much automation of the system. Let's think a bit about it. Google has lots of information about the site's traffic, either via Analytics, Sitemaps or plain Adsense stats. As I see it, they have the technical means to build and run some complex analysis mechanism behind Adsense which sums up all the available data about a site, reacts to any sudden and big variation in CTR/impressions, and, if you're unlucky enough, shuts down your account for "fraud". Adsense may have become too large for the "human" Google teams to handle and they're forced to trust the decisions taken artificially - how many cases of answers have you seen to "Please tell me why my account was closed"? People started to blame them for keeping the money won and not giving them back - agreed, this is a major lack of transparency. But I think the problem goes deeper into Adsense and it's caused by computer algorithms which react erroneously to site performance. I for one will be very careful with my variations in traffic from now on and will try to compensate any drops. I'll be glad to hear your opinion on this. Cheers, Bliss.
I hope not because my site doesn't get much traffic unless I tell my viewers I have new content (which I do with an e-mail). So some days go dry for $0 and others can go up to $40 when I add some content. If this is the case for the antifraud system then I'm doomed!
$0 or $40 doesnt make difference if CTR is almost constant or avrying a little. You can maintain a CTR with no, little or much earnings, i think.
