Adsense And YPN To Join Forces?

    Here's a scary article I just found..
"If Yahoo rejects Microsoft, most analysts believe the company will have to line up another acquisition offer or make radical changes to satisfy disillusioned shareholders.

But most analysts doubt any other potential suitor will have the financial muscle -- or desire -- to try to outbid Microsoft, which has $21 billion in cash and a market value of nearly $265 billion.

Yahoo could boost its profits dramatically by turning over the responsibility of running its search engine and an adjoining advertising platform to rival Google Inc., the Internet's most prosperous company.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt reportedly has broached a potential partnership with Yang, but that alliance might be blocked by antitrust regulators worried about the competitive fallout if two of the Internet's biggest ad networks join forces. Antitrust laws almost certainly preclude Google from trumping Microsoft's bid in an attempt to buy Yahoo outright.

If this ever did happen, how would it affect us?

Well Yahoo already owns a truck load
of Google shares, on account of the Overture
settlement with Google years back. there are rumors
of "G" helping out Yahoo get back on track. I guess
the idea is to stomp out MS.

This will never happen. Google already owns a majority of the search market share. If it were to team up with YPN, they would blow any remaining competition out of the water. And no, this wouldn't be a good thing for publishers -- Google could easily decide how much they want to pay us without having to worry about a fight being put up.

I would like to see Microsoft buys Yahoo but their own brand remain. there will be still yahoo portal, msn live and hotmail, yahoo mail. The only difference is they
are using the same search engine index and advertising platform.

Even if they merge together I don't see them joining forces.
