Okay, I have a question. I am about to launch a new site that is not a video site but it will contain a video clip on the index page that is streaming from youtube. I know that adsense will allow you to show videos from youtube but what if I am unsure of the copyright owners of the video. The interesting part here is that it is a violation of adsense TOS to violate copyright laws but the videos in question are housed on youtube (google) so will they ban you for showing videos they house?
Well, I was hoping for some sort of reply but I guess newbies are not welcome here. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You make a very interesting point and this is just a another perfect example that shows how DUMB again they are. YouTube is nothing but a pump and dump of copyrighted clippings most in 10 min segments. Infringers tend to take full length shows (ex: a 30 min run of Gilligans Island and break in to 3 parts) and Google still allows it. This is the demented un-moderated mentality of the corporate rich that does not care about another's copyright other than their own. However on the bright side YouTube can be very good. Now if they only can moderate their submissions it would be a much better enviorment, I mean who really want to watch 2 sluts that just ported a video off their cell phone from a McDonalds rest room? Becareful these sluts and much other trash may just appear on your lovely site due to the un moderation of the Google and the Youtube coliation. I have been testing Adsense vids and so far I am unhappy with the channels and content.
I appreciate the response and I think I will just email google and see what they say. Oh yeh, in response to the last post. I appreciate your reply but how can you say that the clicks will be low when you have no idea what the niche actually is?
