What's the final verdict of all the experts here on - a. whether to use Text Link Ads along with Adsense - yes or no and why? b. If yes, then whether the usage of the words 'Sponsors' or 'Partners' above the Text Link Ads is okay or not?
I personally think the TLA brou-ha-ha was all a storm in a tea-cup. TLAs are virtually undetectable. Perhaps if you stick an affiliate link/advertise here link right below the TLAs it might be a hint, but... I call mine "Featured Links".
a. why not? There is nothing in the TOS that says you can't. I do it because it's the biggest earner for me. b. I just put my affiliate banner above the links.
I use both, it just doubles my income and they are both great sources of revenue. My AdSense revenue has nearly tripled in the past month and TLA revenue is still steadily growing...
You can use both. John Chow (johnchow.com) uses adsense and text link ads at the same time. He makes pretty good money. And he's got a ton of traffic.
I use text link ads and ban image ads. Image ads are usually public service ads and pay very little, they are also most likely not related to the content on your site. Text ads pay the best for me.
I use both. TLA works better on some sites than others, and is more dependent on PR whereas adsense should do better on a high traffic site. A while ago I changed the text above the links to say 'some other useful sites' rather than 'sponsored links' etc
That's a violation of the TOS for AdSense, but it's fine for TLA. Just want to make sure you're safe...
thanks for the reminder...but yes, I was meaning I had changed the heading above TLA, rather than adsense cheers
