adsense and tax

I am a U.S resident and kind of confuse between adsense and tax.
Currently I am a full time student with no job and I almost reached $100 (take 2 months) in my adsense account. I know that I do have to fill out the tax thing in google in order to receive payment. So after I received money, do I have to file a tax return or income tax at the end of the year?

I think they ask you for your social security number when signing up, don't remember exactly though.

If u don't have any job and your a full time student, I think that you won't have to file anything unless your income is over ~$6000 p/year.

I could be wrong on this, though.

Google takes a W9 form and either EIN or SSN so you are being tracked by the government for that money. I would check because I do think the number is much lower then $6000 a year.

Ugh, 600 and 6000 is a very long way. Would be nice if someone expert at this field can confirm it? :(

It depends on the details of your situation. If you are single, unmarried, and not a dependent on someone else's taxes, you may still need to file taxes but you may not owe taxes until your adsense income is higher. The US 2007 tax rate schedules and other info are available here: irs.gov

For 2007 the tax rate for a single person whose income is under $7,550 is 10%, but you would need to consider your income after exemptions to calculate. They have forms and help at the site.

I have a feeling that you don't need to pay tax below 6000.
And then if you had a full time job, you don't have tp declare adsense/hobby tax unless it is over $600. (or something like that)!

    adsense is self emloyment.
the amount you make on all income determines if you have to file.
the number $6000 is way to high.
go the goverment website and look up self employment or just walk in an irs office.
i breifly looked on the website and saw that there is no difference if your a full time stundent and saw a $850 number.

just because you have to file taxes doesn't mean you'll owe something.

Can I file taxes by myself instead of paying for some tax guy to do it? seriously if I made $850 a year and have to pay like $100 for tax to file then it would be a big lost.

It varies. Consult a professional at the end of the year. Til then, just make money.

Yes you can file them online with out having to pay someone to do it for you, easy to fill out form. I've done mine like that for the past 2 years, so much easier, and quicker.
