I have a fishing website and I am still waiting to get google PR. I am wondering if I should wait for my site to get indexed and just hope traffic builds or should I start doing some PPC advertising? I read in a forum that organic traffic converts better, any insights to this? Thanks Brad
Question you need to ask yourself is - what do i want to achieve? Instant traffic? Ans: PPC. Achieving certain # of PR is not rocket science - just buy some high pr links and during next update your site will shoot up. Traffic from SERPs, you need to work hard to bring your site high up in SERPs and then you can expect decent traffic.
Should I get my links from textlinkads.com or a similar place? I also saw an auction on eBay for a guy that was selling a list of PR3 to PR7 sites that you could post on for free, think this is a scam? Tks Brad
If you want to get high PR links you can get it either from TLA or you can look at the BST forum here...
Thanks for the advice, I will have to take a look! I am trying to get the feedback up so I can go into the BST forum!
My experience is that PPC converts better for Adsense than organic. You are looking to get someone to click on an ad. When they arrive from Adwords they have already demonstrated that they click on ads. If they arrive from SERPs then they may have ad blindness, JavaScript turned off, ads blocked or they may just never click on ads. Other factors will play in but ad clicking traffic should convert better than non-ad clicking traffic. Try PPC, start low and if the money coming back is greater than the money back than you are on to something and will have a bonus of organic traffic later.
Hello Google PR <> Google Traffic, I have many pages with PR0 ranking top 5 in Google How to rank in Google? Depend your niche, and keyword, try to rank related kewords, for example Car is very hard to rank top ten, in a few month, maybe you could work under Ford red cards.. I don't know if you can understand me Best regards, Jakomo
Yes I get what you are saying jakomo, but what tool would you suggest to research keywords? Thanks Brad
organic traffic is the key to success. all seo etc are only done to gain organic traffic. adwords traffic will work with adsense, but then i suggest you try to optimize your site for the organic traffic. that should be your target actually. i always wait for indexing in google for my sites, and get some decent traffic before putting up adsense,
Hi! To answer your q above about what tool to use, I usually pull out the handy gkw tool available for free at softnick.com It checks the overture engine and gives a rough approximation of what phrases are getting typed in there at Overture. You can assume google will get many more queries for the same phrase. I try not to reinvent the wheel when it comes to picking domains and I rely on this tool alot when creating domain names.
Organic traffic is always better.. not only is it longer term traffic, but the users are actually interested in your topic and they're LOOKING for something (relating to your topic) this explains the higher conversion rate.
My data (400,000 clicks since starting Adsense in 2004) indicates that organic traffic coverts at a lower rate. You should want organic traffic but you can fall out of SERPs for a number of reasons, PPC allows you more control. I hear some people say it's a waste of money to buy traffic but if you could by $1 bills for $0.70 how many would you buy??
