Hello, I am new here, I need help. I have re-designed my site, which is quite popular and has been around a while, the re-vamp to 3 months which saw the site go from 37,000 to 114,000 on alexa. I have no partner sites, no backlinks, but the figures are good, coming back up slowly. I am on adsense, I get about 700 - 2000 pageviews a day, about 18,000 - 40,000 hits a day, but my adsense return is absolutely terrible. I have media sites which do gaming and music, but ALL the music and games footage is exclusive, and ONLY found on my site, and furthermore the footage is from professionaly game players and musicians, so its all top notch. Thing is, is adsense best for such site? I am on google analytics and my bases are mainly US, Canada and europe, with Japan etc also in there, but my adsense is just terrible. I`m about 2 throw adsense in the bin, any suggestions? I`m all ears....
It could be a matter of poor ad placement, but it's impossible to say without seeing your site. In general, media-intensive sites don't convert very well with Adsense; people come for your content and they leave, and the regulars get used to the ads and don't click more than once. How much are you making from those 1000 PVs/day?
I have only had adsense back on the site for 7 days. The main difference is while each page had a channel on the old site, the new site has coding that puts the google ad on every page automatically, so there is only 1 channel now. from the last 4 days I have had 3,702 page impressions and $0.41!! pathetic. But then again, as I said, it`s not optimised or anything, I have no partner sites on this new site or anything. I get very few clicks, which leads me to possibly going the CPM route, unless something can be advised?
You should always spread out your ad inventory - don't just depend on AdSense. It is unlikely you'll see anywhere near the revenue from standard CPM ads (unless sold in-house) that you should see from US traffic from optimized AdSense ads. You've not given us a url to review so we can't help you with placement, etc. There are other CPC alternatives and CPA to consider as well. Good luck!
