does adsense count toward increasing the page rank?

Yes, because good page rank mean you have good traffic and back link. Good traffic mean good visitors, good visitors mean you will get high earning.

actually everything you know about Page rank is wrong, page rank is not important... alexa is the one that counts.. you can easily get page rank 4 but you may not get daily 1,000s of unique visitors Don't stuck on page rank, focus on traffic!

 

I don't think so either. Adsense has nothing to do with your site's PR. I don't really know why people are so obsessed with having a high PR. The most important thing is having loads of traffic everyday.

Yes. They do calculate your blog's stats by using your PageRank. More PageRank means ofcourse, More earnings.

 

High PR does not mean more earning and neither does it mean higher ranking in search engines... For higher ranking, get quality backlinks; and to get more Adsense earning, put effort to increase your traffic.

In short, don't concentrate on high PR, it will increase automatically when you are getting quality backlinks and traffic, focus on getting targeted traffic; that's the real game...
