Since adding a forum to my site I have quite a big increase in page impressions. I only have a couple of ads on the index page but I'd like to know if there are any special conditions attached to using AdSense on a forum. I'm getting a lot of bots automatically crawling the forum. This kind of content seems to be a favourite with spammers but do these visits from bots add to the page impressions?
If you and I can figure out that they are bots, rest assured that Google knows. I wouldn't expect much from Adsense on a forum. You'd probably do best by gaining forum members permission for sending them occasional emails and include an offer or two in the email alongside some valuable content.
bots typically cannot execute javascript. If they could, id have an extra 100,000 ad-page impressions on my site this month so far!!! Pierce
