This question has probably been asked before but I could not good answer.

I am running 800recipes.com with adsense.

I would love to have ADBRITE on my site as another source of income since recenlty has been paying very little per click.

    Is this possible.

I would be using ADBRITE on the bottom of every recipe.

    Thanks for the advise.

Hmm, I was sure Adsense and Adbrite wasn't allowed on the same site, but after reading up on this some more, now I'm not sure...

I'm not familiar with Adbrite but Google's terms are as follows:

You cannot put another contextual advertising network on the same pages
Other ad network ads may not mimic Adsense ads in any way.

So if Adbrite ads don't do either of those, then you should be fine. Otherwise it will be a violation of the ToS.

Afaik Adbrite is contexctual so no, it's not allowed.

The best thing you can do tho is emailing Google about it. That way you can be sure.

EDIT: janjalani: are you sure? Well, I've never really looked into Adbrite, I really just assumed.

I've been reading up some more, and apparently it's a muddled issue. Adbrite tells you it's okay (of course they will, they want to cut into Adsense's share of the biz), but some Google people are saying it's not. Then again, others are saying it's okay because Abrite isn't contextual (unless they changed this recently).

For reference, here's a thread on WMW that had input from everyone, including Adsense Advisors (they regularly frequent WMW and their word is directly from Google because they are Google) and the Adbrite founder. It's a long thread (9 pages) but very thorough:

    http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum20/4243-7-10.htm

In the end, email Google and ask, just in case something has changed. But from what I've read, it's NOT against the TOS because Abrite shows sold ads, and are not contextual.

They aren't primarily contextual, but from what I've read, they have a contextual component that you can choose.

Adbright now has a optional contextual network that you may display if you have not sold any adspace yet. I think using that part would be against google TOS. If you added the adbright ad in non-contextual mode it should be allowed but if you dont have actual potential advertisers its kinda an eyesore.

Last time I checked, Yeah. You just offer an ad place on your website and people will buy that space through www.adbrite.com. Check it out.

EDIT: I checked it again, they do have two options. Either sell your space or sell your space with contextual ads. tgo is correct.
