I did email that to google adsense. They said it is OK if they do not provide contextual ads.

    ref: google[dot]com/adsense/policies

disclaimer: was formerly a Google AdSense employee

"Competitive Ads and Services - We do not permit Google ads or search boxes accessing Google search services to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads or services. If you have elected to receive contextually-targeted Google ads, this would include all other contextually-targeted ads or links on the same page as Google ads. This would also include ads throughout the site that mimic Google ads or otherwise appear to be associated with Google on your site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads do not mimic Google ads. If you have elected to receive Google search services, this would include other search services on the same site and non-Google query-targeted ads. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links."

Because AdBrite is not based off of a contextually-targeted system, rather a bid to site system, in my opinion, this would not constitute a violation of their terms of service. Alternatively, you may want to email adsense-support [at] google [dot] com and ask very specifically about "AdBrite." I'm sure you would get a more direct response if you asked a very direct inquiry.

    Best,
    Howard Hsu.

I really dont think so, since all the ads from Adbrite appear on my site are irrelevant to the content and stay almost constant every now and then. It cannot be contextual ads.

hmm then i guess it would be ok then, unless of course google has their backs up by the fact that the adbrite ads look like google ads.
