Adsense + Amazon's New Contextual Ads

Amazon just opened their Context Links (Beta) to the public. If you haven't read about it yet, do so. It's interesting.

Look in your Associate Central and the amazon blog:

    http://affiliate-blog.amazon.com/

My question is if this changes the policy with using Adsense ads and Amazon's new Context link ads on the same page.

Amazon centent ads look differant, are placed differant, and act differant. So I would think that it would still be ok. I think I will try to check with Google first though.

Any thoughts on using the two forms of contextual ads together?

Should be ok since the last Adsense update you can run other ad networks with it. If you are still uneasy about it, maybe send an email off to adsense and then report back here :p

I have put in a question to AdSense about this - I am also interested in trying the combination.

    The reply came back:

Thanks for your email. I understand you'd like some clarification on our
    competing ads policy.

AdSense publishers may display third party advertisements on sites and
pages showing Google ads as long as the formatting or color scheme of
these ads is sufficiently different from the layout of the Google ads. In
other words, if you choose to place Amazon ads on the same site or page as
Google ads, it should always be clear to the user that the ads are served
by different advertising networks and that the non-Google ads have no
association with Google. If the formats are naturally similar, we'd ask
that you use different color schemes for the competing ads.

I am treating this as a thumbs up.

    Google updated there TOS.

You are allowed to run two different contextual ads, as long as and I quote in googles words

"they don't have the same look or feel as adsense ads"

    Thats the truth folks

    Just like this site

http://www.grownupgeek.com is using contextual ads ( Kontera )
