    You could make your own ad that looks similar, links to other sites you've developed. Or you could put in a product from CommissionJunction, I suppose...

    I agree, get the pages indexed and work on the content. Most of the time this is the reason.

    I've found that Google sometimes takes a while on new pages, but usually if I hit the refresh button a few times over the course of a few minutes, the PSAs disappear. For a brand new site, it takes longer, sometimes as much as a day.

    I'd be careful about making ads that look too similar if you have more than one ad block on a page. It's a violation of Google policy:

    I wouldn't waste your time on AlternateURL as an alternative. Been using them for a couple months now, and have gotten about 100 referral signups, too, but the payouts aren't worth having the ugly ads show up in my sites.

    Definitely roll your own alternate ads.
