I seem to be having another famous blond moment. Those that get to know me here will see that it seems to happen around this time each night :D

Please, someone explain to me the differences of, as well as the benefits of, adwords verses adsense.

Can't really compare because they are different animals.

Adsense is for website publishers and let's them put google ads on their websites.

Adwords is for advertisers, and let's you advertise on google and (optional) on sites participating in the adsense program.

...and blonds are some of my favorite people!

Ok, I currently have adwords as an advertiser. Obviously if I have adwords, I have a website -- Can I do both? Is it beneficial?

Blonds always have the most fun :D

Yes, you can do both.... and there are some here that specialize in getting traffic to come in through adwords and out through adsense, making money on the difference, but that's a rather tricky thing to do as the margin can go either way. If you end up paying more for ads that you make from showing ads, it can cost you a bunch. It's called abitrage and I think some make quite a bit of money doing it. Google discourages it. I'm way out of my knowledge area here though, as I have never done it and not read much about it.

You can use both though, even if it's just a way to promote your site and you aren't trying to make money on the margin.

    Yes you can do both.

Adsense - Google pays YOU to display their ads!
Adwords - YOU pay Google to display your ads!

    :D

Sounds like a win win situation

Anyone had real experience with it?

    If I break even, I'm happy :D
