Hey everyone I am new to AdSense , therefore, I have some questions to ask. First of all let me tell you what I am doing. I am building a site that is similar to www.craigslist.org.
To generate some revenue I am going to add lets say a tab in my site called “Top deals of the day” within this tab I am going to have a categories and sub-categories for example:

Under “Top deals of the day” page
    Cell Phone
    Cell Phones
    Cell Phones Accessories
    Cell Phone hardware

    Computers
    Laptop
    PC
    Mac
    Printers
    And so on

So for each sub-category I am going to direct the user to a page all what it contains is AdSense stuff.

    So here are my questions:
    1) to make money from the clicks, Is it all about traffic?
    2) Is it better to have one site like what I am doing which will contain a lot of categories and sub-categories or have more that one site?
    3) Is it better or more profitable to have categories and sub categories like the above example or just have a category? I even thought going deeper for example :
    Computers
    PC
    Dell
    HP
    Is this a better idea?

    5) Let’s say I included in my html page meta tag search keyword for CellPhones, how do I come first in the search engine if other sites are using the same Keywords?
    6) Lets say I placed some good ads in cellphonesdeals.html are these ads updated automatically everyday or I need to update the ads manually?

Your help will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    1) It's all about traffic and placement of the ads, and it's also about your visitors, if they are techies and more into the internet, they do not tend to clicks ads much, because they know these are ads, try targeting for the ones who don't know what's google adsense :)
2)I'll take your question like if you ask, is it better to have all the traffic for one site or the same traffic drawled between many sites. I don't really know, but I thinks it's always better to have 1 site, easily to manage, and easy to sell one site.
3)It's better to have more detailed category, while not having too much of them. PC> Mac, Dell, HP is a good idea :)
    4) Where is 4th question??? :D
    5) To have a good placement in search engines, you need to learn more about SEO. (search engine optimization) visit. There is a section on this forum for it. (briefly, you need alot of inbound links, unique content, and make visitors from search engines stay longer on your site)
    6) Ads in google adsense are always updated, and they are relevant, however, you will have to learn to manage them in you adsense account, to exclude some "unquality" and low paying ads.

    Hope this would be helpful

lots of traffic + relevant traffic=good adsense

if you are making a site like craigslist and put adsense on it, it might look kinda cheesy or bad

i know if i ever saw adsense on craigslist i would raise an eyebrow
