I was wondering how clickable adsense ads with funny or quirky ad descriptions and titles are compared to other adsense ads. For instance, I have an ad that occasionally appears on my site that reads "Dick Cheney Shooting Gear". That sounds kind of funny and makes me want to click (i don't) just to see what this "hunting gear" looks like. So I was wondering if there was any data on the performance of funny or unusual adsense ads? I'm curious how well a site would do if all its adsense ads were designed to peak a visitors' curiousity in such a way.
The wording of ads is something advertisers need to worry about. Maybe you should ask this question in the adwords forum.
I guess the purpose of some them is to increase CTR to the advertiser's site, but it has to be done in a relevant way.
what makes you assume i haven't started the real hard work? to ask a question doesn't necessarily imply one hasn't been acting in proper accordance with recommended practices.
I wish there were more funny ads. So many of them are just plain boring. Why would anyone click them? I saw one which had as its main title "CO". I mean, how dull is that? Plus, it is such a small title, I bet no one could hardly see it.
You know those ones that say "Looking for ____? Find it on eBay!" I had one say "Looking for Hitler? Find it on eBay!"
Yeah eBay ads are very funny sometimes. I also saw this one ad once - "Disney Blood and Bleeding". I actually clicked it. It had a site that had adsense and a pictures gallery of Disney cartoons in ultra violent scenes. IT
